The Best Outdoor Exercises

Spring and summer are perfect seasons to enjoy your outdoor exercises such as tennis, basketball, golf, football, and soccer (although these are sports, but let them consider as exercises); make a good time for anything you like to do outside while the sun is shining and weather is perfect.

The best exercises offers various ways to have fun. You just have to pick which ones suits best to you. Consider giving the following fitness activities and give it a try:

  • Running. If you like to run but are tired of the indoor track and treadmills, take advantage of the beautiful warm and sunny weather and move your running outside. It is best to choose a trail, park, or other running path that is safe (avoid running on open roads and on busy blocks), and make sure to wear sturdy running shoes.

  • Biking. Bicycling is a fun, low-impact exercise that works the heart and lower body (especially thighs). Always wear a helmet, pay attention to the road, and make sure to ride a good bike that fits you well.

  • Hiking. Many state parks and other areas offer hiking trails that serve as a nice break from your regular gym workouts and can provide a good lower-body and cardiovascular workout. Choose trails that are appropriate for your fitness level and stick to the path: Do not wander into the woods, where wildlife or poison ivy may be found. Spend some money on a pair of good hiking shoes or boots.

  • Inline skating. Lace up your skates, head out to a nice, smooth path, and enjoy some inline skating. You will rev your heart rate up and work your lower body. Remember to wear protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards) to prevent injury in case you fall down.

  • Swimming. Swimming is another low-impact exercise that works on your whole body and is a best exercise for just about everyone. Find local public pools or take advantage of nearby beaches or lakes.

Outdoor Workout Safety

Winter weather offers fun exercise options as skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating to get you out of the gym. But after a few months of the cold, warm and sunny weather is a welcomed, A moment of joy for exercise enthusiasts.

When winter breaks and it is the first warm, sunny day of spring, so just break out of the gym and head outdoors for a workout. But as the weather heats up so do your body, as you run, the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke increases. Remember to take the following precautionary measures:

  • Stay hydrated. This is one of the biggest concerns exercisers face, especially in the hot weather. Dink plenty of water or a sports drink before and after your workouts to keep yourself hydrated, and carry along a bottle while you are exercising.
  • Keep your cool. When the weather is really hot, do not plan to do outdoor activities in the middle of the day (between 11AM and 4PM). Stay out of the sun during peak hours when temperature is at its peak; work out early in the morning or in the evening when the sun has set.
  • Soothe heat cramps. If you experience muscle cramping during your outdoor workout, stop exercising, gently stretch the muscles, and drink plenty of cold water.
