Gardening for health is a very old phenomenon but now it is seeking people’s attention worldwide. I was so excited to go through some facts that I decided to share it here with you guys. The health benefits of gardening are infinite; I mean, literally I cannot write enough for its ramifications on human behavior and psychology. It has now been scientifically proven!

Researchers from all around the world have concluded that planting roses or vegetables and inhaling in green environment lowers blood pressure up to a tremendous level. Even looking at flowers in your garden or backyard produces positive energy in you.

Gardening and Horticultural Therapy

Gardening is proving to be an excellent therapy for mentally disturbed and depressed persons. This field is so vast and compelling that now we have a separate department for it named as ‘Horticultural Therapy’. Doctors use it to treat patients in hospitals and even in jails to calm prisoners. Doctors and nurses use it cope with daily ‘life and death’ crises.

Gardening has its tremendous effects on mental as well as physical health. It has helped a lot of people through their physical illness and special needs. Planting flowers and trees is the best physical exercise one can perform every now and then. A simple walk in a garden can be very helpful as it leaves an incredible sense of peace and serenity while reconstructing our thought process.
