Dark Circles Under Eyes – It’s Time to Get Rid of It

 

Stress, too much caffeine, or a lack of sleep not only leave you in a bad mood, but also with a set of bags and dark circles under eyes. Cucumber:

Cucumber is a very good astringent and has got skin lightening properties also. For quick treatment of dark circles you can always rely on cucumber. Another way to treat dark circles is to mix cucumber juice with lemon juice in equal quantities, then apply it with the help of a cotton ball over the affected skin. Leave for fifteen minutes and then wash it off with water. Follow this remedy for a week and soon the dark circles under eyes will vanish.

 

Rose Water:

To get quick rid of dark circles you can take advantage of the incredible skin care properties present in rose water. Take cotton eye pads and soak them in rose water for a few minutes. Put these soaked eye pads on your closed eyelids for about fifteen minutes. Rose water will have a soothing effect on the eyes and it will also refresh the skin around the eyes. This particular remedy can completely remove the dark circles under eyes if followed regularly twice daily for a few weeks.

 

Cold Water:

Cold water can constrict the blood vessels under the eyes and help a lot to reduce eye puffiness and dark circles. Take a washcloth soaked in cold water or cold milk and put it directly over your closed eyelids for several minutes. Alternatively, you can also wrap a few ice cubes in a soft napkin and place it under your eyes. Instead of an ice pack, you can also use a bag of frozen peas, a chilled teabag and a cold spoon. Repeat the process three to four times daily for a few weeks.

Dark circles under the eyes are more prominent on aging skin since the area becomes so delicate and thin. Improving skin tone with water, a healthy diet, and exercise can help reduce or diminish dark circles naturally, but when those stressful times and late nights start to add up, just take care of the problem with a natural remedy for long-term benefits.

After getting up and just before going to bed, wash your eyes with cold water. Even doing it during the day is advisable. This keeps the eyes cool, fresh and clean. This also prevents dark circles and keep eyes healthy.

Goggles/Sunglasses:

Eyes need continuous protection from the sun rays, harsh lights, breeze, dust, pollution, etc. For the same cause always has a pair of sunglasses with you specially while travelling. Everybody knows, eating right is the way to keep eyes healthy. A diet low in fat and rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains can pay benefits. Some foods stand out as particularly helpful for eye health.

  • Oranges (Oranges and all of their citrus cousins — grapefruit, tangerines, and lemons — are high in vitamin C, an antioxidant that is critical to eye health).
  • Omega-3 (rich in omega-3 fatty acid from cold-water fish like salmon, tuna, sardines and halibut reduce the risk of developing eye disease later in life)
  • Vitamins (There are supplements made specifically for eye health. Be sure that they include these: Vitamins A, C, E and B2 and the minerals zinc and selenium).

There is no one solution to all of the types of troubles we encounter with computer and general screen use. Still, although screen time is on the rise, by encouraging healthy habits may well be on its way to better eye health. Start seeing your way to a brighter eye future!
