You can easily manage walking to your every day routine. Like you can park your car a little further from your work area or get off public transport on stop early. It is low strenuous form of exercise that can fit into your daily life schedule and you can enjoy your walking.

Helps managing Weight

It is a form of exercise that helps burn extra calories. A 15 min walk after lunch at steady speed of 3mph will burn approx 60-70 calories. Well this does not sound like much but it can be up to 300 calories over a 5 day working week. Do some walking at weekends and you can see how the calories burned over a week can really add up.

Improves Circulatory System

Your heart rate increases while walking and it gets the blood moving around the body. As a result more oxygen gets into your body and unwanted carbon dioxide and waste out of your body. A strong circulatory system helps to lower your risk of heart disease and reduce your blood pressure.

Walking has direct effects on your brain. The brain functions better when your blood has flowed more throughout your body, you have more oxygen and less carbon dioxide in lungs and you’re less stressed. The positive effects carry over for hours after you are done walking.

There are some mental benefits of walking too. A walk after lunch can help you to clear your mind, relieve the any stress from the morning and help you to better prepare yourself for the work you have to do in the afternoon.
